REGIONAL MEASUREMENT 2 PROGRAM REPORTING

In 2004, voters in the Bay Area approved a bridge toll increase to fund transportation improvements along the toll bridge corridors. The Measure provides new funding for transportation capital projects and operating funds for Bay Area transit operators. The capital program provides $1.5 billion to fund over 140 construction projects totaling over $10 billion in costs. The project includes major bridge crossings, freeway improvements, high-occupancy and express lanes, rapid transit rail expansion, express bus, ferries and ferry terminals, transit fare collection and real-time information projects as well as safe route to transit projects.
