GEARY ROAD IMPROVEMENTS

This $8 million project provides for the installation of Class 2 bicycle lanes, curb, gutter and sidewalk along a 0.8 mile segment of Geary Road.  The project also includes storm drain improvements and an entry gateway monument.  The project is funded by the two cities and Measure J Funds from the Contra Costa Transportation Authority.  BayPac Consult Inc. performed impact analysis on various utility-related construction issues and assisted the cities to develop contract negotiation approach to reach a fair and amicable agreement with the contractor.  This service had significantly reduced the financial exposures for the cities.
