Bollinger Canyon Road

The project is an iconic 200 foot-long single-tower cable stayed bridge for bicyclists and pedestrians crossing Bollinger Canyon Road. The bridge approaches include a combination of a concrete bridge with edge girders and mechanically stabilized earth abutments. When completed, it will become a gateway to the City of San Ramon and City Center Bishop Ranch. It will also be part of the lron Horse Trail.  BayPac provided project management support for the project. This included initial evaluation of project costs and risks which resulted in the recommendation to re-scope the project and to utilize the Construction Manager General Contractor (CMGC) procurement method. BayPac assisted the client in developing CMGC procedures and processes, and to obtain approval by Caltrans and Federal Highway Administration to the use of CMGC procurement method.
